Clicking on a server name in the list expands it to show a detailed list of the backups created. In addition, a full restore will use the original Linux kernel from the OS distribution.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Please also note that file backups may not guarantee successful data recovery for services that do not support this type of backup mechanism. For example, databases fall into this category. This may be necessary if the virtual server’s file system has been corrupted and the server no longer boots.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>To perform a full server restore, click the “\u003Cstrong>Restore\u003C/strong>” button in the row corresponding to the selected backup.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>In this recovery mode, \u003Cstrong>you can select the server to which you want to restore the data\u003C/strong>: either the same virtual server or a different one. To restore to a different server, its configuration must not be lower \u003Cstrong>than that of the original server at the time the backup was created\u003C/strong>, regardless of the backup’s actual size.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"wp-block-beget-image image-block\">\u003Cimg src=\"https://cp.beget.com/shared/1BdsWd5L3tiK8Y4AqLb8-ERRCB9_6y_G/chrome_srw33ly3bb.png\" alt=\"recover data\">\u003C/div>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The selected virtual server will be completely wiped, and its operating system will be reinstalled to match the OS of the source server at the time the backup was created.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>To confirm the action, you must enter the name of the target server at the bottom of the window and click the “\u003Cstrong>Restore\u003C/strong>” button.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The time required to complete the operation depends on the amount of data. Once the operation is complete, you will receive an email notification.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Ch3 id=\"restoring-individual-files\">Restoring Individual Files\u003C/h3>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>To restore individual files or directories, click the “\u003Cstrong>Show File List\u003C/strong>” button in the row with the backup date: this will take you to the backup contents view where you can select files. You can select up to 50 files and directories.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Individual files or directories \u003Cstrong>can only be restored to the original server\u003C/strong> from which the backup was made. The operating system will not be reinstalled during this process.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"wp-block-beget-image image-block\">\u003Cimg src=\"https://cp.beget.com/shared/Q5i_5SqLVdxYakGrkja_ln7j7RNv258M/frame_generic_light-1.png\" alt=\"backup\">\u003C/div>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>At the top of the list, you can switch the backup date for the selected server, allowing you to compare the files present in backups from different dates.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>To restore a single item (file or directory), click the “\u003Cstrong>Restore\u003C/strong>” button in the row containing that item. When you select multiple items, a counter showing the number of selected items and a “\u003Cstrong>Restore Backup\u003C/strong>” button will appear in the panel below the list.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"wp-block-beget-image image-block\">\u003Cimg src=\"https://cp.beget.com/shared/c4ia3-ID7L68iE6qtv6ftkEmFB3QfrYy/chrome_cannj14zhj.png\" alt=\"Restore backup\">\u003C/div>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>You can restore individual files and directories either \u003Cstrong>by stopping the entire server\u003C/strong> or \u003Cstrong>without stopping it\u003C/strong>.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"wp-block-beget-alert alert-block alert-block-warning\">\u003Cdiv class=\"alert-block-title\">\u003Cstrong>Pay attention!\u003C/strong>\u003C/div>\u003Cdiv class=\"alert-block-content\">Restoring files \u003Cstrong>without stopping the server\u003C/strong> is recommended for static files that will not be in use by other processes at the time of restoration. Otherwise, errors may occur in processes using these files, or you may be unable to access them during restoration. This information always includes details about the source and destination servers, the backup date, and the type of operation being performed.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"wp-block-beget-image image-block\">\u003Cimg src=\"https://cp.beget.com/shared/VfwM5nspeKr1LiI_omNmk09A1_33GiVE/chrome_y5oyn0mwkd.png\" alt=\"restoring a copy\">\u003C/div>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Next, let’s look at the possible statuses for restore tasks.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Ch3 id=\"task-statuses\">Task statuses\u003C/h3>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>There are a total of 4 different statuses.\u003C/p>\n\n\n\n\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>In Progress\u003C/strong> – The recovery procedure has been started but has not yet been completed. Once it is complete, the task status will change to one of the following.\u003C/li>\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Completed\u003C/strong> – The recovery of all files and all related operations has been successfully completed.\u003C/li>\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Partially Completed\u003C/strong> – The recovery operation is complete, but some files could not be recovered. Information about any issues that occurred is available when you view the details.\u003Cbr>For a successful recovery, you must resolve the causes of the error and repeat the recovery procedure. If the error persists, contact technical support.\u003C/li>\u003Cli>\u003Cstrong>Error\u003C/strong> – none of the files were restored.
